A LOOK AT THE PROJECT
The Akropong School of the Blind was established in 1945 and is made up of different departments from the Kindergaten to the Junior High School. The school was setup to provide training and education to persons who were visually impaired. It also has a vocational department, the Music Unit and Adult Rehabilitation Class. The Adult Rehabilitation Class was setup to support people who became visually impaired much later in their lives.
The school is sustained by the Government of Ghana and the government has asked for help from individuals in order to provide adequate resources to support the students training. A look at the good work that is being done there by the Head teacher and his staff, all that is needed to push the agenda forward is the benevolence of Nonprofit Organizations and individuals like you.
FOPIC Foundation responded to the governments call by organizing funds from people like you and providing food items and personal effects to help feed the students.
The Akropong School of the Blind shelters over 400 students, most of whom stay on the school campus. The school struggles to adequately cater for all these student and relies on the benevolence of Nonprofit Organizations as well as individuals to meet these needs
FOPIC Foundation is committed to assisting to provide a comfortable and productive environment for persons with special needs.
We organized funds from donors such as yourself and provided assorted food items and personal effects totaling about GHs 9000. We also helped to protect the students by cleaning the school campus.
FOPIC Foundation’s goal for visiting the school was to show our love and support to the students. We demonstrated our support for they building up themselves and growing capacities to do more and be more.
We hope that such an experience will contribute to reshaping the perceptions of the world that they have and will go a long way to helping the training process.
FOPIC SAYS THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN.
